HollyUp turns free time into a plan. You tell it the city, who is coming, when you are free and what you want to spend; it gives back a paced evening or day — three stops that fit together — instead of a list of things you might do.

Why three stops

One stop is dinner. Five is an itinerary, and itineraries turn into checklists. Three gives an evening a beginning, a middle and an end: the anchor (usually the meal), the turn (the stop that changes the scenery) and the finish (short on purpose). Every plan on the site is built that way, and so is every article.

How the budget works

The budget is not decoration. Each stop has price tiers with a rough per-person cost, which we scale by the number of people and by the city, and the planner fills your budget from the part of the night that matters most — the meal on a date night, the activity with kids, the stay on a trip. You always see what the plan costs and what is left over.

Prices are estimates. They exist so you can compare options, not to quote a bill. Menus, tickets and fees change.

How places are chosen

  • Hand-picked, then checked. Every place in a plan or an article was verified against the venue’s own page or an official source, and the date of that check is noted in our notes.
  • Nothing we cannot verify. If hours, prices or even whether a place is still open could not be confirmed, it does not go on the site. We drop closed venues as soon as we find out.
  • Times have to work. A stop only appears where its real hours fit that moment of the plan — a show that starts at 9:30 pm is not offered as an 8 pm stop, and a bakery that closes at 4 pm is never dinner.
  • One neighborhood at a time. Stops in a plan are walkable or a short hop apart, because travel time is where evenings fall apart.
  • Cities. Phoenix and Seattle are hand-picked today. Other cities run in Beta: you still get the shape of a plan, and you can ask us to send a real one when your city is ready.

How we handle links and partners

We link out to official sources — city and county pages, parks, museums and nonprofits — so you can check what we wrote. We do not link to restaurants, hotels or transport companies just because we mention them. A business is linked only when we have an agreement with it, and the page says so. Some partner links may earn us a commission; that never changes which places make a plan.
