This policy explains what information HollyUp (“HollyUp”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use hollyup.com, why we collect it and the choices you have. If you have a question about this policy, write to [email protected].
The short version
- You can build and share plans without an account and without giving us your name.
- If you leave your email (for example to get a plan for the weekend), we use it to send you plans and HollyUp updates — nothing else — and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- We use analytics to understand which features people use. We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email signups. Your email address, the city and the plan choices you had selected when you signed up (so the plan we send matches what you were looking for).
- Messages. If you contact us, the details you include, such as your name, email address and message.
Information collected automatically
- Planner choices. The options you pick in the planner (city, time, company, budget, mood) are kept in your browser and in the link when you share a plan. They are not tied to your identity.
- Usage and device data. Pages viewed, buttons used (for example “Choose this plan” or “Share”), approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, and referring site. We collect this through Google Analytics, which uses cookies or similar technologies.
- Server and security logs. IP address, user agent and time of requests, used to keep the site secure and to stop spam and abuse (for example rate limits on forms).
How we use information
- to provide the planner and send the plans or updates you asked for;
- to understand and improve which plans, places and features are useful;
- to keep the site secure and prevent spam, fraud and abuse;
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
Links, partners and affiliate links
Plans and articles mention restaurants, venues and activities run by other businesses. Some links may be affiliate links (for example to booking or reservation services); if you book through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow a link to another site, that site’s own privacy policy applies.
When you share a plan through WhatsApp, email or your device’s share menu, the message is sent by that app, not by HollyUp.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the site — hosting, email delivery and analytics (Google Analytics) — under contracts that limit their use of the data;
- Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of HollyUp, our users or the public;
- A successor if HollyUp is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Cookies and analytics choices
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site keeps working without them.
How long we keep information
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Messages are kept as long as needed to answer them and for our records. Security logs and analytics data are kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California and other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access it, correct it or delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither). To make a request, email [email protected]. We will verify the request and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children
HollyUp is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Plans labeled “with kids” are for parents and guardians. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed; if a change is significant, we will say so on the site or by email.
